Learning Objectives

By the end of this training, you should be able to:

  • Explain the role and structure of Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS) in project budgeting.

  • Create and analyze progress and estimate data snapshots for earned value management.
  • Utilize reporting data to assess project performance, including margin and revenue tracking.
  • Apply and manage budget changes using adjustment requests and change management workflows.
  • Understand the core principles and terminology of Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Calculate progress using both financial and physical Percentage of Completion.
  • Analyze project performance using Cost Performance Index (CPI) and Schedule Performance Index (SPI).
  • Understand the different types of costs related to production orders and purchase orders (soft-committed, hard-committed, and actuals).
  • Manage committed costs within production and purchase orders.
  • Process purchase orders and track the transition of costs.
  • Set progress percentages in the progress and estimate data set.
  • Configure cost control parameters for managing committed costs.
  • Convert item requirements into purchase orders and track costs evolution.
  • Understand how to create and manage item requirements with the WBS.
  • Track costs as they evolve from non-committed to committed and actual costs.
