The objective of AX 2012 for Retail R2 is to explain the functionality found in the module Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail R2. This includes Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail Headquarters and Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail POS.

Prerequisites

Individuals must have knowledge of the following elements in order to follow this training:

  • Hands-on experience and understanding of the retail industry
  • Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009
  • Implementation and deployment
  • Purchasing and receiving
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Accounts Payable
  • Master data management including currencies, exchange rates, units of measurement, and taxes
  • Posting and Journals
  • For developers
  • Familiar with C#

Audience

This training is intended for employees of Microsoft Dynamics AX 2009 partners, who want to set up and configure Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail and those who want to be able to provide support for the application.

At Training Material Completion

After reviewing this training, the participants will be able to:

  • Set up and configure Microsoft Dynamics AX for Retail.
  • Define and deploy retail stores and POS terminals.
  • Manage inventory items, bar codes, prices, and discount offers.
  • Replenish stores based on replenishment groups and rules.
  • Replicate data between store terminals and Microsoft Dynamics AX.
  • Understand commerce services.
  • Set up and run reports on Enterprise Portal.

For the data distribution and replication part of the training you need to have solid understanding of the TCP/IP networking protocol. You need to know how IP addresses can be assigned and how to use tools such as Ping and Tracert. You need to be familiar with service names to port numbers assignment through the Hosts and Services files.
